                                     HATHA YOGA

                                                          

This enjoyable yoga class is open to everyone regardless of age, experience or ability. Enjoy active relaxation through mindful movement. These classes include Asana ( postures), Pranayama ( breathing techniques), Meditation, and Savasana (relaxation). Classes incorporate a mix of Hatha asana with influences from various teaching philosophies. Blankets, Bolsters, Blocks, Yoga Therapy Balls, Straps and Eye Pillows are used for your support, comfort and relaxation. Variations are given for each posture allowing you to find your own best practice. 


               KUNDALINI YOGA & GONG MEDITATION

                                                        

Kundalini Yoga, as taught by Yogi Bhajan, is science of self-healing that uses asanas, breath-work, mantras and meditations to create vitality in the body, balance in the mind and openness to the spirit. The practice of Kundalini Yoga brings a greater feeling of well-being and happiness. It allows for healing of the nervous and immune system, offers stress reduction, emotional balance, brain longevity, and enhanced intuition. It trains the mind to be calm, clear and flexible in the face of stress and change. Oxygen capacity is increased along with blood flow to the glands, resulting in heightened awareness & endurance so you can meet & overcome the challenges in your life. Kundalini Yoga consists of simple yogic techniques and meditations that can be enjoyed by everyone, no matter his or her age or physical ability. Kundalini Yoga is a safe and complete yogic system that is acknowledged by yogic traditions to be one of the fastest catalysts for personal transformation!    


                             YIN YOGA & MEDITATION

                                                                          

Yin Yoga invites stillness of the mind and body with poses that ask our connective tissues to relax and lengthen over time. In this slow paced class, we hold postures for longer periods of time creating a deep stretch and greater range of motion. This class ends with a deep relaxation and a meditation practice.


                                RESTORATIVE YOGA

                                                                

This is a gentle and therapeutic style of Yoga that uses various props to support the body. When the body feels supported it sends the message that it is safe to relax. It is when the body relaxes in this way that deep healing can occur. Restorative yoga poses help us learn to relax and rest deeply and completely. It is a soothing, nurturing and slow paced practice that promotes the healing effects of rest. This is especially helpful for insomnia and anxiety. Inspired by Judith Lasater, this class is meant to Relax and Renew your Body, Mind and Spirit.


                              CANDLELIGHT HATHA 

                                                                              

A slow and relaxing class that combines therapeutic movements with gentle stretching, basic asana and restorative poses. Melt away the day as you release muscle tension and anxiety. Leave feeling relaxed and uplifted


                             YOGA & HOOP CLASSES

                                                                       

Hooping is another way to connect to your body. Hooping is a workout that improves the relationship we have with our body. Physically hooping; improves your overall strength, core strength, increases stamina, weight loss, improves balance, awakens libido and pelvic health, and improves self-esteem, builds confidence, relieves stress, deepens the body-mind connection, and gives a sense of freedom and power. Hooping is an incredible alternative workout- it can burn over 600 calories and hour- but you won’t notice because you’ll be having a blast! Hooping builds confidence, tones muscles, builds core strength, is great for cardiovascular health, enhances balance and coordination, is low impact, releases stress, increases vitality, elevates mood, and makes you feel happy!

                               ONE HOUR GONG

                                                                                   

Bring your cozy blankets and pillow, you can even wear your PJ's! Relax and settle into the healing vibration of the gong. The total class time will be 75 Mins. We will start with a few warm-ups to get the energy moving, followed by one hour of gong and a short meditation to ground and awaken. 

                       THERAPEUTIC YOGA CLASSES


YOGA FOR CANCER CLASSES AND PRIVATE SESSIONS

These safe and self-nurturing classes have a special focus of energy maintenance and storage. We will practice in a way that is not taxing to our body and allows us to store energy. We will practice connecting with our body, and accepting where we are in the present moment. Our practice will include a variety of Therapeutic Techniques including but not limited to Gentle Asana, Therapeutic Movement, Laughter Yoga, Pranayama, Visualization, Meditation, Relaxation, Chanting, Social and Group discussions and Journaling. Each Participant will be encouraged to honor their body and practice / participate in only what feels right and appropriate for them in the present moment. Open to people living with Cancer and their care person.
